Kiwi success

New Zealand boasts an impressive collection of natural skincare ranges. We’re big fans of products boasting natural ingredients and Kiwi ingenuity.

Enter No.3 – the brainchild of Cheryl and Wayne Lewis. Made in New Zealand with plant-based ingredients and no harmful chemicals, the range includes the luscious Rejuvenating Day Cream with Cucumber Extract and Restorative Night cream with Marshmallow Root Extract.

The latest addition to the collection has been an instant success and the couple have been inundated with demand since launching their Underbalm natural deodorant (no harsh chemicals, no artificial anything and made with organic ingredients).

Fitness Journal chats with Cheryl….

How was No.3 started? Wayne and I always wanted to grow a business together. At the beginning of 2014 we decided to create and develop natural skincare products, with a philosophy of trust and honesty with customers.

Background? I spent my formative years in South Waikato/Tokoroa, before studying sports science, law, and economics at Waikato University. Six years and a couple of degrees later, I moved to Wellington where I worked for a decade in economic development-based roles, before heading to Bay of Plenty.

Why you are so passionate about your business? Because everything about No3 is honest and real. Every product we sell is designed and created by us. After our two boys, Jacob and Gabriel, it is our third baby – No3.

Why is natural skincare important? What we put onto our bodies is just as important as what we put into our them. This is so often overlooked. The amount of nasty chemicals in everyday cosmetics and skincare is concerning, so we ensure our products are safe. We only produce products we are happy to use on ourselves, our children, and our dogs.

What’s your hero product and why? Underbalm! It’s gone a bit crazy since we launched it last year. The interest from people wanting to use natural deodorant with no aluminium has taken us by surprise. It really works and people keep coming back for more.
